Happy New Year! Welcome to the January edition of GeoOutlook. We start the year celebrating a lot of accomplishments in 2024 and are excited to work on many new initiatives in 2025. We are also looking forward to a new time of year for our annual conference, Spring 2025! We have moved back the conference from December to March at the request of members. Plus, we are partnering this year with GAOI (Geothermal Alliance of Illinois). We expect great turn-out for the conference. If you have not registered, you only have just a couple of days before “early bird” registration ends on January 31, 2025. We have reserved the entire conference center at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Illinois, right on the University of Illinois campus. This will be our best conference yet!

If you missed the Annual General Meeting of Members in December 2024, you may not have heard about all of the successes we had over the past year. We do maintain a report on the member portal that provides IGSHPA updates for members. If you’re an IGSHPA member, please check out the “member resources” section for “member reports” on the IGSHPA member portal at https://igshpa.org. You will continue to see exciting new developments at IGSHPA and the industry in 2025, including a new initiative from our partner organization, GeoExchange, called Mission Geo. As IGSHPA and GeoExchange work together to promote GSHP technology, we expect Mission Geo to have a big impact on industry growth. Stay tuned for more exciting details!

As we grow GeoOutlook magazine, we hope you will take advantage of the great opportunities to showcase your projects, products, and services. You may not be aware of our agreement with BNP Media, publisher of ACHR News, Engineered Systems, and more. Our agreement for an E-Magazine includes distribution to subscribers of the two magazines mentioned above, which provides a much wider audience to readers in the HVACR and Engineering fields. The combination of the IGSHPA database and BNP readers provides over 50,000 readers! It is a big “bang for the buck” for our advertisers and great exposure for authors of articles in GeoOutlook.

In this edition of GeoOutlook, we have our first article from the IGSHPA Research Conference in Montréal in 2024. We will continue to increase the technical content and industry trends in the magazine to keep readers up to date. In between issues of GeoOutlook, make sure that you stay up to date with the latest IGSHPA news by subscribing to our monthly newsletter (contact info@igshpa.org to be added to the mailing list) and follow IGSHPA on LinkedIn and Facebook. As the industry grows, the need for frequent communication, as well as details on new training programs will be essential for keeping members abreast of the latest industry developments.
